Neighborhood Portraits
Neighborhood Portraits: EGORAPIN’ – Karin
We visited EGORAPIN', a café that opened last July on Butsudan-dori, a street just off the bustling Osu shopping district in Nagoya, and its staff member, Karin.
Karin wore Nike T90 SHOX MAGIA and shared her values that shape her unique self and her passion for the meticulously handcrafted menu items.

fmn: Please tell us about your shop.
Karin: EGORAPIN' is a café that opened last July. Much of the interior features custom-made furniture and fixtures from a factory in Vietnam.
Our main menu item is bagels. All the wheat is domestically produced, and the unique chewy and mochi-like texture, characteristic of handmade items, is our selling point. We make them small so that customers want to eat more than one, focusing on bagels that you don't stop at just one.

fmn: What do you like about this town?
Karin: It's located on Butsudan-dori, just off the Osu shopping street, so it's calm and has a lot of stylish people.
fmn: How do you like wearing the T90 SHOX MAGIA?
Karin: They're comfortable to wear with good cushioning and a snug fit. The design is simple but cool, so I think they're great shoes.
fmn: In what situations would you like to use the T90 SHOX MAGIA?
Karin: I think they would go well with any outfit, and I could wear them for both work and going out.

fmn: What made you want to work at this shop?
Karin: I thought latte art was wonderful and made customers happy, so I decided to work at this shop where I could do latte art.
fmn: Do you have any principles you keep in mind when working, or your own approach to "omotenashi" (hospitality)?
Karin: I try to be "casual but proper." I always think about what makes customers happy, from my smile to my tone of voice, as I work every day.

fmn: Do you have any challenges you want to take on in the future or a vision you're working towards?
Karin: As a shop, I want to enliven this Butsudan-dori. It's still a place with few passersby, but I want to actively participate in events and spread awareness of this shop and this street.
fmn: When do you feel most like yourself?
Karin: I feel most like myself when I can express myself. That's when I wear my favorite clothes or can show my true personality.
fmn: Do you have any values that you prioritize in your work?
Karin: I value thoughtfulness that can enrich someone's ordinary day, even a little.
The T90 SHOX MAGIA worn this time is available in three colors: white, brown, and grey, at Forget-me-nots. You can purchase them at the online store and various retail locations.
